Swanage Disabled Club is a local charity organisation that provides transport for the disabled elderly as well as social meetings and outings.
We aim to serve mostly the elderly residents who have varying degrees of immobility or other various disabling health issues.
We meet every Monday afternoon 2-4pm at All Saints Church Hall. Transport is always available for these meetings.
We are funded mostly by fundraising – sea-front stalls in August – donations etc.
We also have three vehicles (operated on a non-profit basis) specially adapted for the disabled. 2 larger mini-buses with tail lifts (mostly 12 seaters) – these are available for a nominal hire charge, plus fuel, and come complete with a trained driver and escort, for anyone in the town or locally. They are used for outings for our members of course. We rely totally on donations for this service. For bus hire enquiries contact Robert Payne on 01929 423729.
