Not Just Sundaes Community Cafe

The best kept secret in Wareham!

Details

This hidden gem is a fascinating place to enjoy a coffee or a light bite!  The beautiful, historic building used to be the church of the Holy Trinity but is now a community cafe.

It’s a great place to relax and soak in the atmosphere of the beautifully restored 14th century chapel. With  friendly staff, and a small, but very tasty – good value menu with coffees and teas, home-made cakes, snacks and light bites.

The Holy Trinity Church

The Holy Trinity church stood on the site of St Andrew’s church. It is believed this building was already in existence when Wareham was a Saxon town. However, St Andrew’s was probably a wooden structure, and in 1137 it was completely rebuilt and dedicated to the Holy Trinity. It ceased to be used as a church after the great fire of Wareham in 1762. The church has a 14th century nave and chancel, 18th century north chapel, and 16th century west tower. If you’re interested in the history ask the staff for their special folder, where you can find out all about the history of the church – a good read whilst enjoying your coffee!
